Let’s call it ‘agricultural waste’. This and other wastes are broken down in the absence of oxygen by the
process of anaerobic digestion which produces methane - which in turn
is used as a fuel in a lean burn generating set to make renewable electricity.
And the cows are green, naturally! The overall process is shown in this schematic where hydrogen and oxygen
